IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary Predictions
Defending IMPACT
Honor No More has run a rough shot all over IMPACT Wrestling ever since their debut at Hard to Kill earlier this year. Eddie Edwards who was once called the heartbeat of IMPACT Wrestling betrayed the company and joined Honor No More at No Surrender. The faction has continued to get involved in matches including one between Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian. Following a vicious attack on Rhino that left him in the hospital, Scott D’amore challenged Sabin, Kazarian, and Alex Shelley to find two more teammates to take on Honor No More at Slammiversary. They were able to recruit Nick Aldis to the team. This leaves one open slot for team IMPACT. Who will the IMPACT Originals find to take on Honor No More? Will it be enough to stop the momentum of Honor No More? Could Rhino be healthy enough to take on the team that left him hospitalized? We will find out at this historic Slammiversary.
Prediction – IMPACT Originals win
Ultimate X Returns
An IMPACT original match returns for Slammiversary 2022. The match will see Ace Austin put his X-Division Title on the line against Kenny King, Mike Bailey, Trey Miguel, Jack Evans, and Alex Zayne. Ace Austin is fresh off of a tour in Japan where he participated in NJPW’s Best of the Super Junior tournament. During the tournament he became the newest member of Bullet Club, betraying former friend Alex Zayne in the process. King, Bailey, and Miguel won qualifying matches to earn their spots in this match. Jack Evans, will be making his return to IMPACT Wrestling for the first time since 2011. Zayne on the other hand wants to even a score that started back in Japan. The odds are not in the favor of Austin. Will he retain the title? Or will a new X-Division Champion walk out of Slammiversary?
Prediction – Mike Bailey becomes champion
Queen of the Mountain
Slammiversary 2022 will see the first-ever Queen of the Mountain match. The multi-participant match adds a twist to a traditional ladder match. In order to be eligible to climb the ladder and hang the Knockouts Championship above the ring, a Knockout must score a pinfall or submission to be eligible. The Knockout who is pinned or submitted then must spend two minutes in the penalty box-like structure outside of the ring.
The odds are not in the favor of current Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz. Chelsea Green, Deonna Purrazzo, Jordynne Grace, and Mia Yim are all looking to walk out of Nashville as the new Knockouts Champion. To add an extra element to the match, Mickie James will be the guest enforcer. This will take away the advantage of Savannah Evans who is normally ringside with Steelz. We have not seen a King of the Mountain match since 2016. As the match returns to IMPACT who will walk out of Nashville as champion?
Prediction – Mia Yim wins
IMPACT World Championship
Josh Alexander will defend his IMPACT World Championship against IMPACT veteran Eric Young. Young has been a part of IMPACT for much of the promotion’s history. From his early days in Team Canada all the way to being the leader of Violent by Design, Young has been a key part of IMPACT for much of its history. Young earned his way into this match by winning the Gauntlet for Gold. Alexander has made it clear he has no intention of letting go of the belt he worked so hard to earn.
Alexander had a long road to winning the championship. From Bound for Glory of 2021 until finally achieving his goal at Rebellion of this year, Alexander has already had championship defenses against Moose and Tomohiro Ishii. Alexander shows no signs of slowing down but he will face someone with plenty of experience in an IMPACT ring. Will Alexander retain the championship? Or will Young walk out of Nashville as three-time IMPACT World Champion?
Prediction – Josh Alexander retains
