Karl Anderson has teased fellow WWE stars AJ Styles and Luke Gallows will join him when he appears at a NJPW show on December 14th, 2022. This would be an unusual occasion of top WWE stars appearing for NJPW.
Anderson will defend his Never Openweight Championship against Hikuleo at NJPW Super Jr. Tag League. The match was scheduled for November 5th 2022 but was postponed when Anderson re-signed with WWE.
Anderson confirmed he would finally defend the championship in a video posted on his Twitter account with “The OC” AJ Styles and Gallows. It is the second announcement of top WWE stars appearing for NJPW after Shinsuke Nakamura was confirmed to be taking on the Great Muta on January 1st, 2023.

Top WWE Stars Appearing For NJPW & Vice Versa
Anderson and Gallows making a final NJPW appearance was likely agreed upon when they resigned with WWE. But the teased inclusion of AJ Styles during this appearance hints at something much more exciting. Top WWE stars appearing for NJPW whilst under contract with WWE.
For WWE to allow Styles to appear in NJPW it is likely the company would want something in return. If Styles is set for a one-off appearance that could lead to a NJPW star making a similar appearance for WWE – perhaps in the Royal Rumble. Hikuleo would make a great addition to the Rumble due to his size. WWE management would probably be interested in Hikuleo’s legendary father Haku joining him in the Royal Rumble match.
Haku appeared as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble 2001 match.
WrestleKingdom And WrestleMania
However, the Styles, Gallows and Anderson appearances could lead to a potential feud that could involve a match at WrestleKingdom 17 for NJPW. The Feud would surely be “The OC” vs. the “Guerillas of Destiny” stable of Hikuleo and his brothers Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.
If WWE was willing to allow this to happen it would certainly want some NJPW performers to repay the favor for its WrestleMania event. Perhaps a rematch, perhaps something a lot more exciting.
We’ll leave you to fantasy book Will Ospreay vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. Kazuchika Okada now.
WrestleKingdom 17 will involve AEW’s Kenny Omega competing for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship against Will Ospreay. So we will also leave what is rest of your minds to explode at the potential scenario of top AEW, WWE and NJPW stars all appearing at WrestleKingdom 17.
