The Ukrainian Cultural Center located in Los Angeles, California has become a signature venue of Game Changer Wrestling. It should come as little surprise, then, that the company will be returning to said venue for GCW Amerikaz Most Wanted. There are several promising matches set to take place, chief among them two title bouts. Will we see gold change hands in LA this Friday? This question, as well as others, are set to be answered heading into the weekend. The action will air live exclusively on FITE+, though tickets can still be purchased; see below. Here’s what to know heading into this event.

Joey Janela Defends the Extreme Title
“The Bad Boy” Joey Janela will be in action at GCW Amerikaz Most Wanted; to be more specific, he’ll be in title action. Defending his GCW Extreme Championship, Janela will take on Pagano. On Night Two of GCW Fight Club earlier this year, DDT Extreme Champion Janela successfully challenged GCW Extreme Champion Cole Radrick in a Title vs. Title Match. Per the rules of the match, “The Bad Boy” left Atlantic City with double gold. As if this wasn’t enough, this past October, Janela captured the Vanguardia Extraordinario Championship in another Title vs. Title bout against Adrenalina. With Janela seemingly carving a niche for himself in the Extreme title scene, it has been interesting to see who has stepped up to one of the most recognizable wrestlers in GCW.
Pagano is another wrestler that GCW fans should be familiar with. Also known as “El Rey Extremo,” this clown-faced hardcore wrestling enthusiast trades clean, pristine offense for a gritty sense of combat, able to inflict pain in matches that many can’t help but to stay in tune with. Outside of GCW, Pagano has been a longtime fixture in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, where he’s a former AAA World Tag Team Champion alongside El Mesias. He’s also made a few appearances for Major League Wrestling, even challenging MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Hammerstone earlier this year. This Friday, Pagano will attempt to stop Janela’s quest as Extreme title collector in its tracks.
Tony Deppen Challenges for the Top Title
Scheduled to main event Amerikaz Most Wanted is a GCW World Championship match between reigning champion Nick Gage and hungry challenger Tony Deppen. Following his four-way match victory at GCW Aura, Deppen took the microphone to address Gage. Simply put, following his accomplishments in the company thus far, Deppen had his sights set on the GCW World Championship. This was not the most respectful challenge, however, as Deppen claimed that he would not only take the title but send Gage back to rehab. It wasn’t long after that this main event was set for Amerikaz Most Wanted. Given the slew of opponents that Deppen has defeated in GCW, him becoming the new world champion wouldn’t be so far out of left field.
With this in mind, and despite the champion’s age and years of service to wrestling, Nick Gage is as tough as they come. “The Man, The King, The God of This Sh*t” is one of the most seasoned deathmatch wrestlers, not to mention among the most accomplished. In addition to being a 3x GCW World Champion, Gage has held world title gold in IWA Mid-South, Combat Zone Wrestling, and elsewhere. In fact, his greater story has been chronicled in May of 2021 via Dark Side of the Ring, illustrating his ups and downs, the aforementioned accomplishments, and perhaps most importantly, his irrefutable connection with wrestling fans. Will these be enough to help him retain the gold this Friday? Tune in to see how this question is answered.
GCW Amerikaz Most Wanted will take place in Los Angeles, California on December 16, 2022.
