It was announced during the AAA Noche de Campeones show last night that Dragon Lee has signed a deal with WWW and the AAA World Tag Team Championship have been declared vacant. WWE finally gave Lee a look following his showing on his lone AEW Dynamite appearance (The Elite vs La Faccion Ingobernables from August 17), Lee received 2 tryouts and eventually signed when offered a WWE contract after fielding offers from other suitors. WWE unsuccessfully tried to lock in RUSH within their company a few years ago but they turned him down due to RUSH asking for a pretty hefty price, seems like the new regime brokered a deal with the Munoz family regarding the former ROH Tag team champion Dragon Lee.

Lee let AAA know well in advance about the WWE signing so the promotion made a decision regarding the future of the AAA World tag team championships since FTR are finishing up with AAA this month. Hermanos Lee vacating the tag titles was a decision from AAA. There were rumors about WWE offering his brother Dralistico a tryout but that has since been proven false. Dragon Lee begins with WWE in January as part of the NXT brand.
With NXT Mexico being a rumored reality in the near future, Dragon Lee being a vital piece for that brand could be a hell of a pickup for WWE. Lee will accomplish so much within WWE since he has experience in major U.S. pro wrestling promotions (Ring of Honor and a brief run with Major League Wrestling) . There are a ton of fresh matches for Dragon Lee arriving in NXT – Carmelo Hayes, Apollo Crews, Nathan Frazer, Wes Lee and Roderick Strong. Lee going to the bright lights or RAW and SmackDown will be a game-changing moment down the line also.
