Preview: WWE SmackDown Tonight (5/19/23) – Friday Night Smackdown Card

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn to meet Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa on this week's Friday Night SmackDown card

It is once again almost time for WWE SmackDown! Isn’t 2023 just flying by? It has already been one whole week since last week’s show! Yikes. This week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown card has plenty announced already, so why not just dive right into the preview? Let’s dive right in. We’re diving right in!

WWE SmackDown Tonight Full Card

LA Knight & Rick Boogs Vs. The Street Profits

LA Knight has found a common ally in the guitar virtuoso (depending on who you ask) and former Shinsuke Nakamura ally, Rick Boogs. This week, this makeshift team combines to take on the established team of The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford). This has the potential to be a fun match and with Knight now having an ally in his ongoing grudge against the Profits, maybe he can get some kind of payback.

The Grayson Waller Effect to Premiere

Well, SmackDown and main roster debutante Grayson Waller has somehow convinced Adam Pearce to let him host his Grayson Waller Effect talk show. His first guest is AJ Styles, so this will be a potentially intriguing debut. Styles will be competing against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions for the World Heavyweight Championship, so there’s plenty to discuss.

The Brawling Brutes Vs. Pretty Deadly

Butch and Ridge Holland of the Brawling Brutes will square off against the debuting Elton Prince and Kit Wilson of Pretty Deadly. Pretty Deadly, as a fresh tag team on SmackDown, will be looking to immediately send a message to the rest of the tag team division. What better way to do that than by securing an upset over the Brawling Brutes?

Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar Vs. The Usos

The Usos take on LWO (Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar) on this week's WWE Friday Night SmackDown card (preview)

Well, this is the first SmackDown since the heavily billed return of Roman Reigns last week, so the Tribal Chief is going to naturally want to see The Usos return to form. In fact, with Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa now teaming to take on Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions, The Usos should have something of a chip on their shoulder. With how the Latino World Order (LWO) recently mocked The Usos’ misfortune, we can expect Jimmy & Jey Uso to fire back this week. Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar better bring their A game.

Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa Come Face-to-Face with Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn on WWE SmackDown

As we just mentioned, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa – not The Usos – will face Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn for the WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship at Night of Champions. In the eyes of Reigns, Jimmy & Jey have simply had too many chances – now the Tribal Chief needs to take matters into his (and Solo’s) own hands. This Friday, he and Solo come face-t0-face with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn once more. What might this segment bring? Tune into WWE Friday Night SmackDown to find out what happens here and on the rest of the card this Friday on FOX!
