The AEW “Continental Classic” participants have been revealed with the 12 competitors split into two groups. Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone made the announcement during a special live broadcast on YouTube. Here are the competitors for both blocks competing
AEW Continental Classic Participants:
Blue Group
The Blue Group will include Daniel Bryan, Andre El Idolo, Brody King, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia and Eddie Kingston. Kingston has put his ROH World Championship and his NJPW STRONG Never Openweight Championship on the line during his tournament matches. CJ Perry was revealed to be the new manager for Andre El Idolo and the nucleus behind his inclusion in the tournament.
Gold Group
Former three-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley was announced in the Gold Group. Joining Moxley will be Swerve Strickland, Rush, Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal and former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White. Rush and Jay White will compete in an opening-round match on AEW Dynamite tonight (11/22/23) Moxley vs. Briscoe and Strickland vs. Lethal also take place tonight.
Rules
Tony Khan clarified the rules for the tournament. Matches will have a 20-minute time limit. 3 points will be awarded for a win. If matches end in a draw both competitors will receive 1 point. The winners of the two groups will meet at Worlds End on December 30, 2023. Worlds End will take place at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York on Long Island
