AEW continues its stay at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota for AEW Rampage. Pre-taped and back in its original timeslot for tonight. A little over 23 years ago, WCW presented Monday Nitro on February 28th, 2000 here.
Four titles were on the line that night. And surprisingly despite it being 2000-era WCW, only one title changed hands—the WCW Hardcore Championship. And…. Well, the whole trio of 3 Count: Shane Helms, Evan Karagias, and Shannon Moore won it from Brian Knobbs.
Also in the show, The Mamalukes defeated the team of Idol (the former Lodi) and Lenny Lane to retain the WCW World Tag Team titles.
Jeff Jarrett retained the WCW United States Championship against Vampiro and the main event saw Sid Vicious defeating Tank Abbott to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the show. With that in mind, let’s see what’s in store for AEW Rampage tonight.
Returnhausen!
This week’s Rampage is set to have THREE Trios matches and one Atomicos (that’s the Mexican wrestling term for 4 vs 4) match. That would be this match.
After weeks and weeks of vignettes, a seeming absence due to controversy that was then debunked, and a couple of weeks in silence, Danhausen finally made his return to TV on the Thanksgiving Eve edition of AEW Dynamite in the corner of Orange Cassidy, Hook, and Katsuyori Shibata.
His promos hyping his return were originally exclusive to AEW Rampage and sticking to that, his in-ring return is set for Rampage. He teams with Cassidy and Hook as well as Trent Beretta to take on the mix of two teams: ‘Daddy Magic’ Matt Menard, ‘Cool Hand’ Angelo Parker, and the Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and John Silver.
As Danhausen makes his return, the other side of the ring as Cool Hand Ang who seems to be constantly distracted with his very “Romeo & Juliet” styled romance with Ruby Soho. She nor her partner Saraya may not be in the match. But, let’s be honest.
We seem to get one weekly interaction in that story. Can Danhausen, Trent, and their Champion partners persevere?

With Rey Fenix injured and PAC still dealing with his citizenship issues, Penta El Zero Miedo has recruited two other AAA regulars to form a trio.
Those being the AAA Cruiserweight Champion Komander and AAA Mega Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo. On Dynamite, the trio stepped up to Top Flight and Action Andretti fresh off their own victory over The Hardys and Brother Zay on Dynamite.
But before that match takes place next week, the AAA trio takes on the Work Horsemen: JD Drake and Anthony Henry.
Peculiarly enough, their third man is The Mogul Embassy’s Brian Cage. As his regular partners, The Gates of Agony, are in Japan as a part of the World Tag League.
And joining The House Of Torture. Oh, dear….. Can Brian Cage finally prove to be a solid mercenary? Given his last work away from The Mogul Embassy saw him losing a Street Fight for the Don Callis Family.
Women’s TRIOS Action
Your second trios match of Rampage happens to have The Outcasts, Ruby Soho and Saraya, teaming with the former JAS’ Anna Jay. They all take on former Champions Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida as well as Skye Blue.
Ruby Soho and Angelo Parker both have matches on the show. So, we gotta ask if that romance novel is set to play out again. On the other side, all three participants are coming off losses at Full Gear.
Can the babyfaces win and rebound? Or will they fall to The Outcast’s very House of Torture-like shenanigans?
All that, plus your third Trios match of the night with the Don Callis Family’s Powerhouse Hobbs, Konosuke Takeshita, and Kyle Fletcher in action: all that and more, tonight on AEW Rampage.
