The King and Queen of the Ring tournament continues on this week’s WWE Raw. Read our preview for this week’s WWE Raw including the full match card.
Tournament favorite Gunther, wildcard Jey Uso, and breakout star Ilja Dragunov are all in action in the King of the Ring.
Meanwhile, Iyo Sky and Lyra Valkyria will both continue their flight towards an eventual showdown in the semi-finals of the Queen of the Ring.
WWE Raw airs live from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC at 8PM.
Match Card: WWE Raw (5/13/24)
- King of the Ring: Gunther vs. Kofi Kingston or Rey Mysterio
- King of the Ring: Jey Uso vs. Ilja Dragunov
- Queen of the Ring: Zoey Stark vs. Lyra Valkyria
- Queen of the Ring: Iyo Sky vs. Shayna Bazsler or Zelina Vega
Main Event or Mad Dragon?
The most interesting match on the card is Jey Uso vs. Ilja Dragunov. The match could genuinely go either way.
“The Mad Dragon” Ilja Dragunov has the potential to go all the way in the King of the Ring tournament. A win would undoubtedly be a breakout moment for Dragunov. His opening-round match with Ricochet was excellent but now he faces the hottest star on the WWE Raw roster.
“Main Event” Jey Uso has never won a solo title. Each World Heavyweight Championship failure takes a little heat off the hottest star in WWE. A King of the Ring crown would be a perfect title to help Uso continue to shine as a top star outside of his former Bloodline faction.

Mystery King, New King, or King General
The big question, when the King and Queen of the Ring tournament matches were revealed, was … how are WWE going to fit eight matches on WWE Raw? The answer was simple. Broadcast six on WWE Raw and relegate two to a WWE Live show.
Gunther saw off Sheamus and will now face the winner of Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston. Mysterio and Kingston wrestle on Sunday at a WWE Live Supershow event in Macon, Georgia. Tickets for this match are available here.
The winner will get less than 24 hours to prepare to face the tournament favorite Gunther as he attempts to become the King of the “Ring General“.

Queen of the Ring
Mysterio’s LWO stablemate Zelina Vega’s match with Shayna Baszler will also take place at the WWE Live show. The winner faces Iyo Sky on this week’s WWE Raw.
Like Dragunov, Lyra Valkyria has the potential to be the big breakout star of the Queen of the Ring. Her debut episode of WWE Raw couldn’t have gone better, last week.
Valkyria defeated Dakota Kai to advance in the tournament. She also had an interesting moment in the ring with Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch that signaled the two could face off soon.
The sky seems to be the limit for Valkyria. This week, she faces Zoey Stark.
