Three Best Stories Heading into WWE Bad Blood 2024

We will have the first WWE Bad Blood premium live event this Saturday in 20 years. The last event was in 2004, and the main event was Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels in a Hell in a Cell match.

This year, there are intense stories behind the five featured matches on the card. All of these matches have stories that have been dragged out for months, some since WrestleMania 40! It is easy for the fans to get bored of seeing the same stories and matches, but in this case, it’s exciting to see what’s next!

Let’s look at some of the best stories we will see play out this Saturday.

Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley

I honestly think this is one of my favorite women’s storylines that WWE has had in quite a while. A long story might seem slow to the fans sometimes, but depending on how it is executed, it can build up more suspense and emotion in the story.

This particular story began on the Raw after WrestleMania 40 in April 2024, when Liv Morgan attacked and injured Rhea Ripley backstage.

They have been at it since, even when Ripley was out from her shoulder injury; Morgan made sure that everyone knew that she was the one to put Ripley on the shelf. That dislocated shoulder was the beginning of Liv Morgan’s revenge tour.

Dating back to 2022, Liv Morgan has had revenge on her mind towards Ripley ever since Ripley turned on her before joining The Judgement Day. Morgan took her opportunity at the Raw after WrestleMania 40, which began the nearly five-month constant back-and-forth between the two.

The story was executed perfectly. Morgan continuing the revenge tour while Ripley was injured helped the audience become more invested.

It was also unpredictable and had many comedic aspects, starting with Liv Morgan gifting Dominik Mysterio a PlayStation 5 and chicken nuggets and adding the cherry on top by taking the entire Judgement Day with her, except Damian Priest.

Now, at Bad Blood 2024, Dominik Mysterio will be locked above the ring in a shark cage. They keep finding ways to change and entertain this story, which works, but how long can it last after Bad Blood 2024?

Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu

After the outcome and feud between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns going into WrestleMania 40, I don’t think anyone thought they would see them teaming up so soon.

From the fall of Roman Reigns and The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa rose with The New Bloodline, who wants to be the “top dog” like Reigns was.

They’ve wreaked havoc across the roster since Jacob Fatu’s debut on SmackDown (06/21/2024) and have not slowed down. Paul Heyman has even voiced his concerns about Sikoa going “too far.”

This story is a case of “the enemy, of my enemy, is my friend,” making Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu the common enemy since their rise after Wrestlemania 40.

It seems Reigns and Rhodes are the only ones who can stop them, as The New Bloodline laid out much of the roster. It doesn’t seem like the story is nearing an end, either.

The only way to find out who the true tribal chief is is to have a one-on-one match between Reigns and Sikoa, but that might be difficult when Sikoa wants a WWE Championship match.

However, whoever stands tall will most definitely set the tone moving forward.

Hell In a Cell: CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre

This feud is one of the most personal stories WWE has had in a while. The longevity of the rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre helped the fans get involved in this story.

Like the Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan story, the story got a lot of traction from the audience because it kept the story alive while one was injured. This created more anticipation for any sort of match against one another.

After McIntyre injured Punk at the Royal Rumble 2024, from January to August (CM Punk’s return), McIntyre has been jabbing at Punk through social media and various interviews. He never let the story die. If not for this, the feud between these two wouldn’t be as big as it is now.

Already having two matches against one another, will this Hell in a Cell match be the third and final one between the two? No one can get in, and no one can get out; anything goes.

McIntyre won one match over Punk at SummerSlam 2024, with Seth Rollins as the special guest referee. However, not even a month later, at the WWE Bash in Berlin 2024, Punk defeated McIntryre in a strap match. Who will win the third bout between the two?
