The Joshi wrestling scene (Japanese Women’s Wrestling) is a deep scene full of insanely talented performers and every month there are dozens of fantastic matches from promotions from Stardom to PURE-J and everywhere in between. In this article, we aim to give readers a list of recommended Joshi matches that took place in the last month, there will be some honorable mentions and then a top 5 featuring our absolute favorites! 5. Hazuki vs Utami Hayashishita
This match served as Hazuki’s “I’m back” statement of intent. She reminded everyone of why she was one of Stardom’s best big match performers before her retirement. Hayashishita is about as consistent as anyone when it comes to her big matches but Hazuki provided the added x-factor that made this match great.
4. Konami vs Syuri
Konami and Syuri went to war in this UWF rules match. The intricate grappling between them to start things off gave way to some fantastic striking exchanges as each woman sought to win the bout via a knockout. Even if you aren’t a fan of the technical aspect of the match it is tough not to be drawn in by their exchanged down the stretch.
3. Hanako Nakamori & Arisa Nakajima vs Leon & Cherry
There are few things in Joshi wrestling that are more enjoyable than the PURE-J main event style. Add Arisa Nakajima to that style and you have a recipe for a really great match. Nakamori and Leon have been rivals atop PURE-J for some time now and their chemistry is off the charts in every interaction. Nakajima was at home in this style, given she was trained at PURE-J’s predecessor JWP. This was action-packed, stiff, and most of all, fun!

2. Suzu Suzuki vs Tsukushi Haruka
Just a year after these two had a classic in Suzuki’s first ICExInfinity title defense they followed it up with another classic, this time in Haruka’s first defense. The hard-hitting style of both women was on display throughout the match intermixed with dazzling counter exchanges as they both ran through their greatest hits. Suzuki and Haruka are Ice Ribbon born and bred and they put the Ice Ribbon house style on full display in this match-up.
1. Tsukasa Fujimoto vs Tsukushi Haruka
Tag partners, protege’s to Manami Toyota, Ice Ribbon veterans, those are all words to describe Tsukasa Fujimoto and Tsukushi Haruka. While Fujimoto has spent years as the definitive icon of Ice Ribbon, Haruka has mostly been a tag team championship contender who had a penchant for stealing the show. That was until this match, at Ota War, these two squared off for the ICExInfinity Championship with Toyota herself watching on. They proceeded to have the match that we all expected as they went to war in a match filled with violence and callbacks and nods to their mentor Toyota. Haruka putting Fujimoto away with the Japanese Ocean Suplex (not to be confused with the Cyclone Suplex) was a perfect way to cap off this emotional bout.
