CZW Spotlight: Ruthless Lala

Ruthless Lala

LWOS Pro Wrestling is happy to be working with Combat Zone Wrestling on a number of different things, one of which is our new series; CZW Spotlight. We will be talking with some of the biggest names in the company, some veterans, and some new faces. With the return of CZW, this is your chance to get to know everyone more in-depth and really get a feel for where things are headed in the combat zone. The first in this series is an interview with Ruthless Lala.

Women’s wrestling has seen a significant evolution, especially in the independent scene where women’s matches are often regarded as highly as that of their male counterparts. These women train just as hard as the men and work tirelessly to hone their craft in the gym, in the ring, and out of the ring. Independent wrestling, in particular, has an approach to women’s wrestling that really puts these talented performers at the forefront. Many promotions promote their female roster in great stories and awesome matches and oftentimes, even include intergender matches which give female wrestlers the chance to lock up with the boys and showcase their talents. Female wrestlers are accomplished athletes and in many cases can stand toe to toe with any male on a respective roster. One such individual is Ruthless Lala, who took some time to speak with LWOS Pro Wrestling about her career, her goals in wrestling, and some of her favorite moments.

CZW Spotlight with Ruthless Lala

KD: How long have you been wrestling and what got you into it in the first place?
Ruthless Lala: I have been wrestling for 19 years. December 28th will be 20 years that I have been in this wrestling business.  Honestly, I stumbled upon it when I was turning through the channels, being up when I was supposed to be asleep.  After I saw it the first time, I literally got hooked and honestly, the rest was history from there.

KD: Where have you worked in your career?
RL: I worked a lot of promotions. I pretty much worked everywhere; Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kansas, Indiana, New York, New Jersey, and Maryland just to name a few.

KD: What has been the biggest accomplishment of your career to this point?
Ruthless Lala: My biggest accomplishment is honestly, being gone for about a year and a half and not promised to even be alive let alone returning to wrestling, and on March 19th of this year I returned and I have been on a return tour full speed ahead.

KD: What brings you back to CZW?
RL: CZW is my home since I became a part of the WSU roster. Su Yung and myself are still the current WSU World Tag Team Champions. CZW has always shown me love and respect and I’m going to give that same back you know?

KD: You have proven in the past that you have no issue stepping up to any male wrestlers who cross your path.  You recently stepped in the ring with CZW powerhouse Eran Ashe. What are your thoughts on this match and what can you tell us about it?
Ruthless Lala: I had a blast wrestling Eran.  There is no animosity, there is no bad blood.  We got in there, we beat the s**t out of each other.  It is what it is.  You know, I’ll gladly whoop his a** again.  It doesn’t matter, win or lose, he got his a** whooped and it is what it is.

KD: Speaking of issues with male wrestlers, it is no secret you have had some interesting back-and-forth interactions with long-time friend Isaiah Wolf.  While much of it has happened outside of a CZW ring, you are both a major part of the CZW roster.  What started the heat between you two and where is it headed?
RL: So, Isaiah Wolf is my A1 Day 1. He is my best friend. Legit, I have known him for his whole wrestling career.  He has had my back inside and outside the ring. He was one of the people that kind of kept my sanity when I was out of wrestling for a year and a half. When I returned to wrestling, all I wanted was a match because I knew if anyone was going to push me to my limits it was going to be Isaiah. I asked for the match and instead of him just agreeing, there was “you don’t want this, you better ask all the others what I did to them.”

It was just a lot of disrespect, you know what I mean? So I was like fine, I’ll do a promo and we’ll see what happens. I did a promo, he didn’t like it and we ended up getting into it to the point where I wanted my match and he still didn’t want to give it to me. So I just started showing up wherever he was booked because 9 times out of 10 I was booked at the same place. I tried to have a normal conversation. He said my government name and I said I was going to slap the s**t out of him and I did. I didn’t try to get my nephews involved or put them in the middle, but s**t kinda happened. We are going to resolve this with a best out of five series. First match is July 30th at BCW Ridgefield Park New Jersey, and after this, I’m gonna be good….maybe. It’s just a big family matter.

KD: Now that you are back, what are some of the matches you would really like to have?
Ruthless Lala: I want to wrestle Desean Pratt of CMD. That’s also the bro, that’s the fam and I want to whoop his a**. Hell, I want all the smoke, so I can’t even really narrow it down. I do know I’m going to punch Desean in the face….soon….respectfully.

KD: On a lighter note, you are an anime fan.  What is your favorite?
RL: I have a plethora. I love Jujutsu Kaisen, Dragon Ball Z of course, Trigun, Record of Ragnarok, Baki, Demon Slayer is really my s**t. I’m overly excited about that. I could keep going on and on because I watch a lot of anime, but that would be a few.

KD: What other things are you into when you aren’t beating people up?
Ruthless Lala: I play video games and I stream and I more than likely scream like a little b***h. I also talk a lot of s**t. I’ll either be on Twitch or TikTok just hanging out.

I’d like to thank Ruthless Lala for taking the time to talk to me and for the opportunity to introduce her to the LWOS Pro Wrestling readers. Be sure to follow Lala on her social media sites to keep up with everything she is doing and keep it locked here for more CZW Spotlights to come!
