ROH Announces CMLL Stars for Manhattan Mayhem
Ring of Honor announced today that the company will be welcoming CMLL stars Ultimo Guerrero, Volador Jr., and Soberano Jr. to Manhattan Mayhem on March 3rd to make their New York City debuts.
Ultimo Guerrero will be making his NYC debut, although he has wrestled for the company before, most recently joining the company for its UK tour this summer. Guerrero is a legend in Mexican wrestling and has endeared himself to ROH crowds whenever he makes an appearance. In the past, Guerrero has had issues with Matt Taven, stemming from Taven’s time in Mexico, though it’s anyone’s guess if he will be gunning for his rival or if he has his eyes set on another.
Volador Jr. made his ROH debut last year at Supercard of Honor, teaming with Will Ospreay to defeated the duo of fellow CMLL star Dragon Lee and Jay White. The luchador is an accomplished legitimate star in CMLL, holding numerous titles in the company and is a huge fan favorite. After his performance at Supercard of Honor this year, his role at Manhattan Mayhem promises to be an exciting one for ROH audiences.
Soberano Jr. has been making waves in CMLL, with a particularly strong finish to 2017. He started off 2018 just as strong, competing at Fantasticamania 2017, a show co-produced by ROH’s partners NJPW and CMLL. A young rising star, Soberano shows a great deal of promise and will be an intriguing matchup for the ROH roster, as his speed and athleticism make him a stand out in CMLL at a young age.
The partnership between the two companies has recently brought Dragon Lee, Titan, Rey Cometa and Esfinge in front of Ring of Honor crowds and this announcement shows that ROH plans on continuing to bring the best wrestlers CMLL has to offer.
