It was reported earlier this week by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jeff Cobb, one of the hottest free agents in wrestling, had signed a limited, non-exclusive deal with Ring of Honor and would be debuting this weekend at the television tapings this weekend at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. Twitter user Ben Turpen was at the tapings tonight and confirmed that Jeff Cobb did in fact debut, interrupting a potential Top Prospect tournament match between Eli Isom and F.R. Josie, taking out both youngsters.

Jeff Cobb originally gained national prominence for his role as “The Monster” Matanza Cueto in Lucha Underground, before gaining notoriety under his real name. The Hawaiian native of Guam descent represented Guam in the 2004 Summer Olympics, before transitioning to pro wrestling in 2009, starting out with Action Zone Wrestling (AZW) on his native island. But after his breakthrough as Matanza in 2015, Jeff Cobb has become indie wrestling’s new Suplex Machine, competing for such promotions as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), EVOLVE, Smash Wrestling, All American Wrestling (AAW), Major League Wrestling (MLW), WrestleCircus and many, many more in North America. He’s also extended his resume to include international stints with the likes of NJPW, PROGRESS, RevPro, Over The Top (OTT) Wrestling, and Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw). Cobb is a former Lucha Underground Champion (as Matanza) and a former PWG Tag Team Champion alongside Matt Riddle in The Chosen Bros.
