Love Wrestling? Love Writing? Write for US!

Who Are We?

Well, if you’ve found our site, hopefully you know what we do! But if not, here’s the scoop. We are Last Word on Pro Wrestling, the professional wrestling department of Sports Events Guide, an international sports magazine/news site that covers sports all over the world, covered by writers from all over the world!

At Last Word on Pro Wrestling, we’re nurturing a department and coverage site that brings back the fan’s side and love of professional wrestling. We’re not here to spread dirtsheet rumours, we’re not here to spread gossip or half truths. We’re writers who love professional wrestling, from the local indies to the WWE, and everything in between. We believe that every level is vital to the health and longevity of this industry and with that mentality, we want to promote, discuss and enlighten with as many promotions as we can!

But that is a huge task, as there are so many great independent promotions in the world, with new ones popping up all the time. We can’t possibly cover them all with the passion and honesty we’d like. Which is where YOU come in.

Write for US!

Do you currently follow any kind of professional wrestling? Do you like to write and/or blog about it? Would you like to do that and have the chance to earn money for doing so? Then perhaps you could be the latest writer for Last Word on Pro Wrestling.

While we have some promotions covered, there are still many that we do not have covered, simply due to time. Here’s a list of promotions we eagerly hope to add coverage for:

  • The UK Scene: Looking for writers to cover the many circuits in the UK, such as Progress, Revolution Pro, ICW, OTT and many more!
  • Women’s Indie: We are a HUGE supporter of women’s wrestling and encourage more articles to promote these amazing wrestlers. While we cover the women’s wrestling in WWE, Shine, and Stardom (currently), we would love to bolster this with even more coverage, of promotions like Shimmer, WCU, Queens of Combat, and many more!
  • Regular coverage of the North American indies: While we do cover briefly some of these promotions, we would love to bolster that coverage by having specific head writers for each one – that includes PWG, CHIKARA, Evolve, AAW, AIW, Glory Pro, WrestleCircus, Smash Wrestling, the list is endless! If you’ve got an promotion you’d like to cover, let us know!

Sound good so far? Ok, then let’s talk more about what our parent head, Sports Events Guide, is all about!

What LWOS Can Do For You:

  • Join a network with over 300 writers
  • Build your writing portfolio and brand
  • Hone your writing skills
  • We can help you market yourself and your new column
  • Content promotion
  • You will join the thriving LWOS community, and meet other writers and sports fans
  • Upward mobility — we hire from within!
  • ***NEW*** LWOS Remuneration (Beta)

What is a Team Manager?

Team Managers, in addition to writing regularly, help to recruit other writers, organize team content, and manage social media for their team. TM’s work directly with their Dept Head and LWOS Exec to organize content for the department. While this is a bigger commitment than a Contributor, it is both manageable and rewarding.

What is a Contributor?

Contributors are writers who can commit to writing bi-weekly at a minimum. Each contributor chooses a department to join, and is introduced to the managing editors, editors, and fellow writers.

Do you pay?

We are pleased to announce LWOS Remuneration (beta)! Tired of writing for sites with no possibility of earning anything for your hard work? LWOS has recently launched our first remuneration plan that will offer some monetary incentives for your hard work. And not only that, but LWOS hires from within so there are always ways to grow with our company!

Application Process

LWOS requires a submitted sample from each candidate. We ask for 500-1000 words focused on analysis of a game, player, team, or a league issue. Please let us know which sport and team (if applicable) you are most interested in covering, along with the position you are applying for— contributor or team manager.

Be sure you proofread your article before submitting. Our usual timeframe to review your application is 48-72 hours.

To apply, send your information and sample of your work to [email protected]
