So far, the first announced entrant is former 1990s WWF character Mantaur, while hardcore legend Necro Butcher, indie legend Slim J and WWE Hall of Famers The Rock N’ Roll Express have also been announced for the two-day event. As Mr. Aguila, he debuted in his native Mexico in 1994, working various independents until he was signed by the WWF in 1997 to be a part of its rebooted Light Heavyweight Division. A skilled luchadore, his time in the WWF, despite holding the WWF Light Heavyweight title, is more well known as being as the man who introduced Lita to the WWE Universe. His first few years saw him go through several gimmick changes, from Aguila to Papi Chulo (when he frequently tagged with Taka Michinoku), before he got a major reboot as Essa Rios alongside the debuting Lita. He departed the WWE shortly after the WCW Invasion angle started in 2001.

Following his WWE departure, he returned to Mexico, originally heading to AAA. In 2004, he attempted a comeback in the US, heading to TNA/IMPACT Wrestling, but it was short-lived.

In 2005, he jumped to CMLL, where he spent the next decade with the company. Shortly after joining CMLL, he joined one of the companies top heel factions, Los Perros del Mal, lead by Perro Aguayo Jr., winning the CMLL Trios titles alongside Aguayo Jr and Hector Garza and the Mexican National Trios titles with Damien 666 and Halloween (better known as WCW’s Ciclope). Following Aguayo Jr.’s departure from CMLL in 2008, Aguila followed, although his departure was brief.

In 2010, he returned to CMLL once again, remaining with the company until 2015. He worked various independents in Mexico in 2016, before returning to AAA, where he still competes fairly regularly.
