Saracens Women is pleased to announce the signing of South Africa international Catha Jacobs.

The second-rower, who has four caps for her country is another exciting arrival and will provide a big boost for the Women in Black as they build towards the business end of the season.

Jacobs made her debut for South Africa last August and has shown her ability by also featuring for the Springboks on the Sevens Circuit.

The 23-year-old has already had a taste of English rugby as she came up against Rocky Clark and Sonia Green when South Africa took on the Barbarians at Twickenham recently in a historic fixture.

Jacobs is excited for her new challenge in North London.

“I am very grateful and privileged to join Saracens. It’s a world class environment that I have hoped to experience for a long time. I am excited to learn and develop from a brilliant squad!”

Alex Austerberry quote is pleased to have another arrival at StoneX Stadium.

“We are delighted to welcome Catha to the club. Having watched her closely during the recent Autumn Internationals and after a short trial period at the club it was clear to see that she has great potential. Physical, powerful and with a strong competitive streak, Catha has illustrated her quality. We are hugely excited about the potential for growth in her game and her desire to maximise her development.

Catha will come in to the match day squad this weekend have been with us for a couple of months and having had game exposure with London Irish recently. It will be great to see her impact on the field and will be really exciting to see her game blossom.”
