Roland Garros Qualifying Day 3 Best Bets Including Fernando Verdasco

Fernando Verdasco Buenos Aires

With the first round of Roland Garros qualifying behind us, there is still plenty of exciting tennis to be played this week as the players battle it out for a place in the main draw. With such a wide selection of matches, there is bound to be some value left on the table by the bookmakers, so let’s see what we can find.

Roland Garros Qualifying Day 3 Best Bets

Nuno Borges vs Felipe Meligeni Rodrigues Alves

Borges’ form recently has been a little shaky in recent weeks but he is one of the best players on clay in qualifying when he hits his form. The first round against Thomas Fabbiano was a bit of a rollercoaster as well. Meligeni Alves’ form outside of altitude clay has been very poor though, topping it off with a 1-6 2-6 loss against Jason Kubler in Zagreb. The Brazilian was handed the possibly the easiest draw in Bradley Klahn. I think Borges should be a pretty strong favorite around the -350 line so there is some value here.

Recommended selection:
Borges ML – 2 units @ -200 (1.5, 1/2)

Sebastian Ofner vs Aleksandar Vukic

Ofner’s comeback has been largely successful this year, winning a Challenger in Prague. There were some question marks around him coming in as he retired in his last match before Roland Garros, but his straight-sets win over Jay Clarke assuaged those fears. Vukic, on the other hand, went 0-3 on clay coming into Paris and has looked quite poor recently. Ofner should be a favorite on a similar level to Borges, around the -350 mark, so a good amount of value is also available here.

Recommended selection:
Ofner ML – 1.5 units @ -175 (1.57, 57/100)

Fernando Verdasco vs Alexander Ritschard

Verdasco was dominant for the large part of his three-set win over Damir Dzumhur and though his second-set collapse is concerning, his experience enabling him to leave it behind and deliver a breadstick in the third was impressive. Ritschard barely scraped through his match against Lauren Lokoli in the first round and his level did not look very high. Verdasco has the added motivation of being in the twilight of his career and with it being one of his final French Opens, he is sure to give it his all.

Recommended selection:
Verdasco ML – 1.5 units @ -164 (1.61, 61/100)

My Best Bets record so far: 25 units returned 27.58 including stake.
Recommended selections are based on a 5-unit betting system where 1 unit is a minimum stake, and 5 units is the maximum stake.
