The Asian swing on the WTA Tour continues with the second day of the event in Jiangxi. Fourth seed Xinyu Wang is one of the women scheduled to play. Her contest is one of three predicted in this article. There are ten matches in total on a very busy second day in Jiangxi. We at LWOT have two separate articles predicting the rest of the day’s matches in Jiangxi- including Leylah Fernandez vs Guo Hanyu and Beatriz Haddad Maia vs Nao Hibino. But which players do you think will win?
WTA Jiangxi Day 2 Predictions
Magda Linette vs Valeria Savinykh
Head-to-head: Linette 2-1 Savinykh
This is the first time these two have faced in over ten years. Therefore, their three previous matches are largely irrelevant. Linette, who had a great run this year at the Austrlian Open, suffered a slightly surprising defeat to Petra Martic last week in the opening round in Zhengzhou. Her results during the Asian swing have been very solid, aside from that setback. But Pole should be wary of an upset here. Savinykh has enjoyed a resurgence this year, reaching her highest-ever number of ITF finals in a season. The 32-year-old’s results in the Asian swing have also impressed, twice progressing through qualifying and then winning a main draw match. Linette’s ranking is still considerably higher and she is the favourite. Her consistency will likely be enough to progress in Jiangxi, but Savinykh could push her hard.
Prediction: Linette in 3
Kaja Juvan vs Ulrikke Eikeri
Head-to-head: First meeting
Juvan currently sits just outside the Top 100 in the rankings. Yet there have been some promising signs in recent months. The Slovenian progressed to the third round of the US Open and beat the talented Brit Katie Boulter last week in Seoul. Finding results consistently is where Juvan has struggled so far this season. Nonetheless, expect her to win her first round in Jiangxi. Eikeri is ranked outside the world’s Top 600, and the Norwegian has had more success in doubles throughout her career. Expect Juvan to win. It would be a major surprise if she faced any major problems along the way.
Prediction: Juvan in 2

Marie Bouzkova vs Kathinka Von Deichmann
Head-to-head: First meeting
The second half of Bouzkova’s season has been impressive. She may not have reached a final, but a fourth-round at Wimbledon, third-round at the US Open, quarterfinal at the Cincinnati Masters, and quarterfinal last week in Seoul is very solid work. Von Deichmann is ranked outside the Top 300 but did get a WTA main draw win last week in Seoul. But that came against the world no.387 Irina Khromacheva. Bouzkova’s movement and solid groundstrokes are a very different prospect. The third seed in Jiangxi should progress with relative ease.
Prediction: Bouzkova in 2
Xinyu Wang vs Laura Siegemund
Head-to-head: First meeting
Wang has had some impressive results during the Asian swing, including a straight-set victory against Daria Kasatkina. She also reached the semifinal of the Japan Women’s Open and came close to beating Maria Sakkari in Beijing. Her big serve and flat shots seem perfectly suited to the conditions in Jiangxi. However, Siegemund presents tough opposition. The 35-year-old reached the quarterfinal last week in Hong Kong and is playing some of the best tennis of her career. The German also prefers playing against big-hitting opponents. Wang gets a slight edge in front of her home crowd, but an upset would not be a huge surprise in this one.
Prediction: Wang in 3
