ATP French Open 1/64-Finals
Borges – Machac: 28.05.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Nuno Borges has won three of his last five matches. The Portuguese made it to the two quarterfinals this year in Los Cabos and Estoril. With those results, Borges became a top 50 player. Last week in Rome, Borges made it to the 1/8-Finals where he lost against Zverev in two sets. In March, Borges won the challenger title in Phoenix, winning against Berrettini in the final. Last year at the French Open, Borges reached the second round, losing against Schwartzman in three sets. So far this season, Borges has not had any remarkable results on clay.
Tomas Machac has won four of his last five matches. Last week, Machac surprisingly reached the final in Geneva where he lost against Ruud in straight sets. En route to the final, Machac won against some solid players, including Novak Djokovic. Before that, Machac lost in the second round of the ATP Masters 1000 in Madrid against Ben Shelton. Last year Machac was ranked out of the top 100 and did not even qualify for the French Open. However, Machac is a way better player at the moment and I expect him to do well this year.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Machac is a slight favorite. We believe that he is at this moment a better clay court player than Borges. Last week’s win against Djokovic will give him a lot of self-confidence, and we believe that he may go deep at the French Open this year.
That being said, Machac winning is a value bet.

Navone – Carreno-Busta: 28.05.2024 11:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Mariano Navone has won three of his last five matches. This season has been his best season of his career. The Argentine has played so well this season that he made it into the top 40. At the start of the year, Navone was outside the top 100. However, after reaching the final in Rio de Janeiro and Bucharest, Navone climbed up the rankings. Unfortunately for him, Navone lost both ATP main tour level titles this season. Last week, Navone played the challenger tournament in Turin where he lost in the 1/8-Finals against Nakashima. Last year at the French Open, Navone lost in the qualifiers.
Pablo Carreno-Busta has lost four of his last five matches. He used to be one of the most consistent players back in the time, but the injuries ruined his career the last couple of years. This will be his first competitive match since the Malaga Challenger last year in October. Carreno Busta used to be a really solid clay court player back in the time. In 2021, Carreno-Busta reached the 1/8-Finals in Paris where he lost against Tsitsipas in three sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Carreno-Busta is a huge underdog in this match. We saw him practice earlier this week, and he looked ready. We believe that Carreno-Busta will put up a big fight and keep this match close.
That being said, Busta covering the games handicap is a value bet.
