The WTA event in Nottingham this week has been several affected by rain but they have finally managed to reach the semifinal stage, which will feature an enticing all-British matchup between Kate Boulter and Emma Raducanu, both looking to win a title on home soil. It should be a very exciting day of action, if the rain so allows.
WTA Nottingham Semifinal Predictions
Kate Boulter vs Emma Raducanu
Head-to-head: Raducanu 1-0 Boulter
It’s a battle of the Brits, with the tour veteran Boulter taking on the young Raducanu. The latter shocked the world by winning the US Open as a teenager three years ago but has since failed to live up to the very lofty expectations she set for herself with that extraordinary title run. In fact, if she wins this match, it will be her second career WTA final, meaning that the US Open is the only time she ever played a title match on tour. That said, she is still 21 years old and it’s possible that she’s just been going through some growing pains and will start fulfilling her potential soon. Boulter is easily the more seasoned and solid player overall, but in terms of potential Raducanu seems to have a very clear edge and she has been playing good tennis this week. She might just finally reach another final here at home this week.
Prediction: Raducanu in 3
