ATP US Open 1/32-Finals
Goffin – Mannarino: 29.08.2024 20:00 CEST
H2H: 5-3
David Goffin has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Winston-Salem, Goffin reached the semifinals where he lost against Sonego in straight sets. A week before that, David reached the semifinals at the challenger level tournament in Cary. Those tournaments were much needed for Goffin and his confidence coming into the US Open. Yesterday, Goffin won his first round match against Tabilo in straight sets. Last year in New York, Goffin lost in the first qualifying round against Novak.
Adrian Mannarino has lost four of his last five matches. This has been the worst season for Mannarino. Before the US Open, Mannarino was on a 10-match losing streak. However, Mannarino won his opening match in New York yesterday against Coric. It was overall a low-quality match, but Mannarino ended up winning the match in straight sets, hitting 10 winners and 30 unforced errors. Both players were inconsistent throughout the whole match. Last year at the US Open, Mannarino reached the third round where he lost against Tiafoe in four sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Goffin is the slight favorite in this matchup. Even though Mannarino won in straight sets, he still struggled on the court. On the other hand, Goffin has been playing well for the last couple of weeks. We believe that he will be a better player on the court, and win this match easily.
That being said, Goffin winning is a value bet.

Navone – Evans: 29.08.2024 22:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Mariano Navone has lost four of his last five matches. This is the least favorite part of the season for the Argentine. Mariano had his biggest results on clay, and usually underperformed on the fast courts such as this one. Yesterday, Mariano won his opening match against Altmaier in four sets. Navone lost the first set 1-6, but managed to keep his composure and turn the match around. Last year in New York, Navone lost his first qualifying match against Klein in straight sets.
Dan Evans has lost three of his last five matches. This has been the worst season for a Brit. Last week in Winston-Salem, Evans lost his first round match against Vukic in three sets. Yesterday, Dan won his opening match against Khachanov as we predicted, after spending almost six hours on the court. It was the longest match ever played at the US Open. At the beginning of the season, Evans was a top 50 player. However, his recent poor performances led to him dropping out of the top 150 in the rankings. Last year in New York, Dan lost in the third round against Alcaraz in four tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, this should be a 50-50 match. Dan is a better hard-court player than Navone, without any doubt. However, after spending almost six hours on the court at this age, we believe that Evans will be exhausted tomorrow. Navone knows that, so he will try to keep the rallies as long as possible.
That being said, Navone winning is a value bet.
