ATP Vienna Best Bets Including Zverev vs Musetti

Alexander Zverev US Open

ATP 500 Vienna quarterfinals

Mensik – de Minaur: 25.10.2024 19:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting

Jakub Mensik has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Mensik reached the quarterfinals, where he put up a big battle against Djokovic. Jakub lost that match in three sets, but fought until the very end. Here in Vienna, Mensik successfully qualified for the main-draw tournament. In the first main-draw round, Mensik defeated Popyrin in straight sets as we predicted. After that, in the second round, Jakub won against Kecmanovic once again in straight sets as we predicted. He is aiming to get into the top 50 in the rankings this week.

Alex de Minaur has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Antwerp, de Minaur reached the quarterfinals, where he was upset by Gaston in three tight sets. Alex has not played many matches recently due to his hip injury. Here in Vienna, de Minaur defeated Struff in three tight sets. After losing the first set 2-6, de Minaur stepped up his game, and turned the match around. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Cobolli retired mid-match against Alex. Last year around this time, de Minaur played in Basel, where he lost in the 1/8-Finals against Griekspoor in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Mensik is the slight underdog in this matchup, and we can not agree with that. Jakub is having his best season, so we believe that he will be fully confident coming into this matchup. Mensik is currently in better form than Alex, so we believe that he will win this match.

That being said, Mensik winning is a value bet.

Zverev – Musetti: 25.10.2024 15:30 CEST
H2H: 1-1

Alexander Zverev has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Zverev was upset by Goffin in straight sets. The German had many big matches this season, but usually fumbled under pressure when it was most important. Here in Vienna, Zverev won his opening match against Schwaerzler in straight sets as we predicted. In the 1/8-Finals, Sascha won against Giron in straight sets. In 2021, Zverev won the title here in Vienna. Last year in Vienna, Zverev reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Rublev in three tight sets.

Lorenzo Musetti has won three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Musetti lost his second round match against Goffin in three tight sets. Here in Vienna, Lorenzo defeated Sonego in straight sets in his opening match. Musetti offered no breakpoints, and was unstoppable on his serve. Today, in the 1/8-Finals, Monfils withdrew from the tournament, so Musetti did not even have to play his 1/8-Final match. Last year in Vienna, Musetti lost his opening match against Dimitrov in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Zverev is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. Sascha loves to play on the indoor courts. We believe that he will be a way better player under these conditions, and win comfortably in straight sets.

That being said, Zverev winning in straight sets is a value bet.
