Grigor Dimitrov in action ahead of the ATP Stockholm Open.

ATP 250 Metz 1/8-Finals

Herbert – Halys: 06.11.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-0

Pierre-Hugues Herbert has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Bratislava, Herbert played in the challenger tournament, where he was stopped in the second round, losing against Diallo in straight sets. Here in Metz, Herbert lost in the final qualifying round against Cazaux in three sets. However, with some of the players withdrawing from the tournament, Herbert entered the main-draw as a lucky loser. In the first main-draw round, Herbert defeated Martinez in three sets as we predicted. Last year in Metz, Herbert reached the semifinals, where he was stopped by Shevchenko in straight sets.

Quentin Halys has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Halys lost his opening main-draw match against Cerundolo in straight sets. Here in Metz, Quentin successfully qualified for the main-draw tournament. In the first qualifying round, Halys defeated Martineau in straight sets. After that, in the final qualifying round, Quentin won against Barrere in straight sets as well. In the opening main-draw round, Halys defeated Papamalamis in straight sets. Halys is looking for a solid result this week, to cement his top 100 status.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Halys is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree with that. He is in a way better form than Herbert right now, so we expect him to dominate in this match.

That being said, Halys winning in straight sets is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Quentin Halys winning 2-0 @1.83 @bet365

Dimitrov – Norrie: 06.11.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-2

Grigor Dimitrov has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Dimitrov reached the quarterfinals, where he lost against Khachanov in straight sets. It was overall a solid tournament for Grigor, who is looking to cement his top 10 status this week. So far this season, Dimitrov has been consistent on every surface, which brought him back in the top 10.

Cameron Norrie has lost four of his last five matches. Last week in Paris, Norrie lost his opening qualifying match against Halys in straight sets, and played terribly throughout the whole match. Here in Metz, Norrie won his opening match against Carballes Baena in three sets as we predicted. This has been the worst season for the Brit, who dropped outside the top 50 in the rankings. So far this season, Norrie has not had any remarkable results. Last year around this time, Norrie was injured and skipped this part of the season.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Dimitrov is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree. This has been the worst season for Norrie. He struggled throughout the whole season. On the other hand, Dimitrov has been playing well throughout the season, so we expect him to be fully confident coming into this match. We believe that Grigor will dominate from the very start, and win this match easily in straight sets.

That being said, Dimitrov winning in straight sets is a value bet.
