ATP Madrid Best Bets Including Alcaraz vs Rublev

Carlos Alcaraz in action ahead of the ATP Madrid Open.

ATP Madrid quarterfinals

Fritz – Cerundolo: 01.05.2024 11:00 Time TBA
H2H: 0-1

Taylor Fritz has won four of his last five matches. He played last week in the final of the ATP 250 in Munich. Fritz was defeated by Struff in two sets. Here in Madrid, Taylor won both of his matches in straight sets. He has lost his serve only once in those two matches. Yesterday, Fritz defeated Baez in straight sets and showed great tennis. It seems like this faster surface in Madrid is great for his playing style. Today, Taylor defeated Hurkacz in two tight sets. He served well yet again, and did not lose his serve at all.

Francisco Cerundolo has won four of his last five matches. In the second round, Cerundolo won against Marozsan easily in straight sets. After that, Cerundolo had two big wins against Tommy Paul and Alexander Zverev. He is playing his best tennis at this moment, and looks like a dark horse in the tournament. Today, Cerundolo saved both of the breakpoints and won convincingly 6-3 6-4. It was his biggest win of the season. He loves to play on the faster clay courts such as this one.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Cerundolo is a slight underdog in this matchup. However, watching him play against Paul and Zverev, we just must bet on him. Cerundolo showed great tennis, and we believe that he will dominate once again.

That being said, Cerundolo winning the match is a value bet.

Rublev – Alcaraz: 01.05.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-1

Andrey Rublev is struggling a lot with his emotions on the court. That was also the main problem why he lost so many matches lately. Before his second round win against Bagnis, here in Madrid, Rublev lost four straight matches. Rublev has been very dominant so far in Madrid. After winning his first two matches, Rublev faced an in-form Griekspoor. Andrey served exceptionally well and did not offer any breakpoints. He has won 97% of the points with his 1st serve, which is just incredible.

Carlos Alcaraz has won four of his last five matches. His first two matches in Madrid went easy on his side. It was another story today against Struff. Alcaraz spent almost three hours tonight against Struff. He ended up winning the match 6-3 6-7 7-6. We have to say that Struff played another great match. Alcaraz hit 37 winners with 24 unforced errors. It was overall an interesting match to watch. Alcaraz loves to play here in Madrid. He clinched the title here in the last two editions, in 2022 and 2023 as well. The only guy that has ever won against him in Madrid is Rafael Nadal.

Best Bet to Make

Rublev and Alcaraz have never played against each other on the clay. Both of them have shown great tennis here in Madrid so far. We expect another tight match tomorrow. According to the bookies, Alcaraz is the favorite in this matchup. However, we believe that Rublev has a decent chance, and that he will cover the games handicap easily.

That being said, Rublev covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Andrey Rublev +4.5 games handicap @1.67 @bet365
