WTA French Open quarterfinals
Andreeva – Sabalenka: 05.06.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 0-3
Mirra Andreeva has won four of her last five matches. Mirra is still only 17 years old, and it is impressive to see her compete at the highest level like that. Before the French Open, Andreeva had a great run in Madrid where she lost against Sabalenka in the quarterfinals. Her shot selection became much better this year, and therefore better results as well. So far in Paris, Andreeva has lost only one set. En route to the quarterfinals, Andreeva won against Bektas, Azarenka, Stearns and eventually against Gracheva yesterday in straight sets. Mirra played great under pressure yesterday and showed us that she is ready for some big things.
Aryna Sabalenka has won four of her last five matches. She is the second-biggest favorite to win the tournament after Swiatek. Before the French Open, Sabalenka lost in the WTA Rome and WTA Madrid final against Iga Świątek. So far in Paris, Aryna is yet to lose a set. En route to the quarterfinals, Sabalenka won against Andreeva, Uchijima, Badosa and, eventually, against Navarro, all in straight sets. Aryna looks unstoppable this week.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Andreeva is a big underdog in this matchup. This will be her biggest match of her young career. She has nothing to lose, so we believe that she will play without any pressure and keep this match tight.
That being said, Andreeva covering the games handicap is a value bet.
Value bet/ the best odds: Mirra Andreeva +4.5 games handicap @2.10 @bet365
Paolini – Rybakina: 05.06.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 2-2
Jasmine Paolini has won four of her last five matches. At the beginning of the tournament, Paolini won both of her first matches in straight sets easily. In the 1/16-Finals, Paolini fought hard against Andreescu and won in the end in three sets. Yesterday in her 1/8-Finals match, Paolini lost the first set against Avanesyan, which made her angry. After losing the first set, Paolini went on to win 12 out of the 13 games, which led to her winning 6-0 and 6-1 against Avanesyan.
Elena Rybakina has won four of her last five matches. Before the French Open, Rybakina made it to the semifinals where she lost against Sabalenka in three sets. So far in Paris, Elena still had not lost a single set. En route to the semifinals, Rybakina won against Minnen, Rus, Mertens and, eventually, against Svitolina, all in straight sets. Her 1/8-Finals match against Rybakina was the biggest challenge for her, and she still lost only 7 games.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Rybakina is a big favorite in this matchup. We believe that Elena showed better tennis so far in Paris, and we believe that she will win against Paolini in straight sets and continue her run in Paris.
That being said, Rybakina winning in straight sets is a value bet.
