ATP 250 Atlanta 1/16-Finals
Opelka – Kovacevic: 24.07.2024 19:00 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Reilly Opelka has won three of her last five matches. Opelka played his first comeback match after being out for around two years last week in Newport. He managed to win three consecutive tight matches, and eventually lost in the semifinal against Michelsen in straight sets. It is still not clear if he is 100% fit, considering his semifinal performance last week. His last hard court main-draw match was in Washington in 2022 where he lost against Nick Kyrgios in straight sets.
Aleksandar Kovacevic has lost three of his last five matches. Last week in Newport, Kovacevic reached the quarterfinals where he lost against Michelsen in straight sets. His last hard-court match was in March in Miami, where he lost against Marozsan in the first round. So far this season, Aleksandar has played in 14 ATP tour-level tournaments, and lost 9 times in the first round. He is looking to improve his form to get ready for the US Open.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Opelka is the slight favorite in this matchup. Both players are big servers, with games. We expect a tight match that could go either way. We believe that they will play at least two tiebreaks, if not even three sets.
That being said, over games is a value bet.

Walton – Rinderknech: 24.07.2024 20:00 CEST
H2H: 0-1
Adam Walton has lost three of his last five matches. Here in Atlanta, Walton fought through the qualifying tournament to get into the main-draw. In the first qualifying round, Walton defeated Mochizuki in easy straight sets. However, in the second round, Walton lost against Bellucci in three sets. With some players withdrawing from the tournament, Adam got into the main-draw as a lucky loser. In the first main-draw round, Walton defeated Kecmanovic in straight sets. Walton is looking to get a decent result here, to cement his spot in the top 100.
Arthur Rinderknech has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Newport, Arthur lost in the second round against Kovacevic in three tight sets. Here in Atlanta, Rinderknech won his first round match against J.J. Wolf in easy straight sets. Arthur had a great serving performance, not offering any breakpoints. His return game was also great. Rinderknech is looking to go deep this week, to get into the top 50 before the US Open. So far this season, Arthur has reached two quarterfinals at the ATP tour-level. His draw looks easy, so we believe that he may reach his first semifinal of the season this week.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Rinderknech is the slight favorite in this matchup. We believe that he is more experienced and a better player than Walton at this moment. Arthur had a great first round performance, and we believe that he will continue in that fashion.
That being said, Rinderknech winning is a value bet.
