ATP 500 Vienna 1/8-Finals
Mensik – Kecmanovic: 24.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: first meeting
Jakub Mensik has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Mensik reached the quarterfinals, where he put up a big battle against Djokovic. Jakub lost that match in three sets, but fought until the very end. Here in Vienna, Mensik successfully qualified for the main-draw tournament. In the first qualifying round, Mensik defeated Ritschard in straight sets. After that, in the final qualifying round, Mensik won against Muller in straight sets. In the first main-draw round, Mensik defeated Popyrin in straight sets as we predicted. He is aiming to get into the top 50 in the rankings this week.
Miomir Kecmanovic has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Stockholm, Miomir reached the quarterfinals, when he lost against Tommy Paul in straight sets. Here in Vienna, Miomir had a favorable first-round draw. Kecmanovic defeated Navone in easy straight sets. Miomir scored and saved one breakpoint throughout the whole match. He is hoping for a solid result this week to get closer to the top 50 in the rankings. Last year around this time, Miomir played in Basel, where he lost his opening match against Rune in three tight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Mensik is the slight favorite in this matchup. Jakub is having his biggest season, so we believe that he will be fully confident coming into this matchup. Mensik is a heavy hitter, who loves to play under fast conditions such as this one. Kecmanovic was inconsistent throughout the whole season.
That being said, Mensik winning is a value bet.

Monfils – Musetti: 24.10.2024 Time TBA
H2H: 1-2
Gaël Monfils has won four of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Monfils reached the 1/8-Finals, when he lost against Alcaraz in tight straight sets as we predicted. Here in Vienna, Monfils defeated Halys in straight sets. Gael served well throughout the whole match, offering only one breakpoint. Last year in Vienna, Monfils reached the 1/8-Finals, where he lost against Tiafoe in three tight sets.
Lorenzo Musetti has lost three of his last five matches. Two weeks ago in Shanghai, Musetti lost his second round match against Goffin in three tight sets. Here in Vienna, Lorenzo defeated Sonego in straight sets in his opening match. Musetti offered no breakpoints, and was unstoppable on his serve. Last year in Vienna, Musetti lost his opening match against Dimitrov in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Monfils is the slight underdog in this matchup, and we can not agree with that. Gael thrives under these conditions, so we expect him to have an upper hand in this matchup. On the other hand, Musetti had his biggest results on the clay courts.
That being said, Monfils winning is a value bet.
